Hi I am a newbie!
I went vegan 5 months ago after reading Skinny Bitch and I can't remember what my life was like before. Since then I have been doing a lot of reading, and discovered some amazing people whislt browsing the internet (such as Sarah, Dreena Burton, Kris Carr, Dr Neil Barnard etc..) and some really interesting information about our environmental impact, our health and treatment to animals. If you ask me, the most difficult thing in being vegan is not the 'not eating cheese' thing (FYI I am French) but being the 'weirdo' in my group of friends. I don't know anybody else who is vegan as well and I feel lonely and misunderstood sometimes... (even tho my (omnivore) boyfriend is very supportive) I'm hoping to find some support over here

Hello, I am not quite a newbie. I used to post all of time before the chat room changed formats about 2 years ago or so. I used to post as "monroe".
I do not spend too much time on the computer but love to check out vegan sites like the ppk, and shop at various online vegan shops. Hobbies include yoga and pilates, drawing, cooking and learning to sew. I owe my vegan journey (6 years!) to Sarah and Tanya. One day I discussed vegetarianism to my chicken-finger loving husband and I stumbled upon How It all Vegan. We went completely vegan within 3 weeks. The rest is history!! 6 |

Just wanted to stop by here & say 'hi.' We're Karl & Linda, & we're currently living in California, though we're both British.
Linda's been vegan since '86, veggie for a couple of years before that. Karl's been vegan for over 10 years now, & was raised as a vegetarian,
so he's never eaten meat. We're scientists, rockers, love sci fi, and we're hoping to be able to adopt this year & start our family.

well... im new here
)
i have been raw for the month of july 2009 and so far into august and very very vegan )
you know... im wondering if any of you have had someone 'devil's advocate' you and question how you can extinguish the spirit of the veggies and fruits etc. that we consume ?? -- they have feelings too non?? i just dont know how to really wrap my noggin around this !! i get that we all have vital energy and are ALL soulful ... but... ?? wha'do i say to this?? perhaps there's a thread on this -- i'll go hunting be well friends onelove ~*~ tis JAHlove <3 |

Tell your friends who say that about vegetables that if they want to have a mature conversation about your lifestyle that you would be more than happy to talk to them about it. But if they want to talk about idiotic things - to not waste your time. |
